Civil Aviation Day
Every year on February 9, Russia celebrates Civil Aviation Workers' Day — a professional holiday for all those connected to this vital industry. The holiday was established by Presidential Decree in 2013 and commemorates the historic date of February 9, 1923, when the Council of Labor and Defense adopted a resolution establishing the Civil Aviation Council, marking the beginning of Russia's civil aviation development. Today, civil aviation connects cities and countries, brings the world closer together, and opens new horizons for millions of people.
Domina Pulkovo Hotel has a special connection to this holiday through our General Director, Evgeny Mikhailovich Voitenkov — a man whose life has been inextricably linked to the skies. After graduating from Kremenchug Civil Aviation Flight School with a degree in piloting, Evgeny Mikhailovich rose from helicopter commander to squadron chief of staff. Although a serious accident ended his aviation career, his love for the skies and respect for the profession have remained with him forever.
This is why our hotel rooms are decorated with paintings featuring aircraft and helicopters — a tribute to aviation and a reflection of one man's personal story, for whom the sky will forever remain a part of life. Every detail of the interior creates an atmosphere that inspires travel and discovery.
On this special day, we proudly congratulate all civil aviation workers — pilots, flight attendants, air traffic controllers, engineers, and everyone who ensures flight safety and passenger comfort!
We wish you clear skies, favorable winds, and new professional achievements!
