Apple Feast Day

Apple Feast Day is one of the three major “Saviour” holidays in the Orthodox tradition, with roots that go back centuries. It is linked to the Feast of the Transfiguration, celebrated on 19 August, and according to ancient custom, this day marked the blessing of the first fruits of the new harvest — most notably apples, a symbol of abundance, health, and renewal.
The holiday appeared in Russia in the 14th century and over time became a popular folk celebration, symbolizing the end of summer and the start of the harvest season. Traditionally, it was a day of fairs, festivities, and sharing apple-based dishes with family and friends.
From 18 to 31 August, in honor of this holiday, Dunay restaurant invites guests to enjoy desserts with a special touch — each order will be accompanied by a complimentary serving of fragrant apple liqueur.
Spend your warm August evenings at Dunay restaurant, discovering the flavors of this festive season.
